Your help is vitally needed
to protect Weed and
South Siskiyou County
from serious damage
to citizen's health,
property, and quality of life.

A 15 Megawatt Wood-Fired Power Plant, recently approved to be built at the base of Mount Shasta, in Weed, CA will burn the equivalent of 250 cords of wood per day extremely close to neighborhoods and schools, and will cause:

• significant increase in air pollution

• significant increase in noise

• risk of deadly Legionnaires' disease

• carcinogenic wood dust and diesel soot

• serious damage to health

• increase in truck traffic

• lower property values in Weed and surrounding areas

• discourage other businesses in Weed

This project, as currently approved, is flawed and unsafe.
It can be made much better.

It does not comply with environmental laws, and does not adequately protect the citizens who live here. Citizens have therefore challenged the project's approval, asking that better protections for our communities be included in the project's design.

Jobs Facts – Job creation is important in today's economy. This biomass project will create 4 new jobs at the Weed facility. But Roseburg recently began laying off employees due to the nationwide downturn in the building industry (before this lawsuit existed). It is unfair for Roseburg to try to blame their job layoffs on this lawsuit, where citizens seek only to gain the reasonable protections they deserve for their community.

Let's make the project better for Weed and South County.

Together, as a community, we can make a difference.

Volunteers Needed.

Donations for Legal Costs Needed.

Please join with us to help make Roseburg Forest Products' Biomass Power Plant a better, safer facility, instead of a scourge upon Weed and the South County. Simple solutions exist that can help protect citizens and the environment, and still allow Roseburg to make plenty of profit. More info…..
